Xmittens: Recyled Vegan Fleece Accessories

It's coming up on holiday crunch time and the scramble for gifts for everyone on your list is always challenging! I'd recommend checking out Xmittens by Amber Coppings if you are stumped. These vegan fleece accessories include fingerless mittens, scarves, shawls and hats - I had the personal pleasure of playing with the fingerless mittens and the kerchief scarf on my trip to Vancouver Eco Fashion Week this fall. I have to say, I'm not usually a fleece girl, but paired with over the knee boots and a ninja-esque ensemble, the Xmittens fit into my personal style perfectly!

I went with hot pink fingerless gloves with black stitching and, as you can see in the photo below, I wore them to do some work on my computer outside while enjoying the beautiful Vancouver weather. I later wore them on a walk along the sea wall and they provided just the right amount of warmth on a chilly but sunny day.

The designer, Amber Coppings, first started making Xmittens to keep her hands warm while working on the computer indoors. She found a great creative outlet for herself and the fingerless mittens were a hit with friends. Now, her line is worn in 24 countries and 49 states! Go Amber!

You can purchase Xmittens through their website, but if you are shopping in Pittsburgh (like me!) track them down at Pavement in Lawrenceville or Gordon Shoes at The Waterfront.
